Laura Fleming is an award-winning library media specialist at New Milford High School in New Milford, New Jersey. Fleming is the recipient of the National School Boards ‘20 to Watch’ in Educational Technology Leadership, as well as the author of the best-selling, Worlds of Making: Best Practices for Establishing a Makerspace for Your School. She is also the creator of a successful digital badge-based professional learning platform.
Cate Tolnai works as an Academic Technology Specialist for the Santa Clara County Office of Education and has been researching and advocating for gamification of professional learning since 2013. As an EdTech coach, she supports teachers and administrators in their efforts to integrate digital badges at their school sites, fosters industry and community partnerships around digital badging, and stays connected to the badging community through social media and conference presentations. hashtag ConnectedTL hashtag badgechatk12
Matthew Friedman is currently the Chief Academic Officer in the Downingtown Area School District overseeing K-12 academics, professional development and technology. Prior to coming to Downingtown Area School District he was the K-12 Assistant Superintendent for the Mars Area School District, supervisor of curriculum/instruction and staff development, a middle school assistant principal, and activities director in the Keystone Oaks School District. He also previously served as a ninth grade teacher at Penn Hills School District.
